What happens in a session?
The chiropractor initially does an assessment with a health history and physical exam with the patient clothed. For a treatment, usually the patient lies on a chiropractic table and is positioned by the chiropractor for a treatment.
There are many treatment methods, only one of which is the classic "cracking”. Usually when an adjustment is done, there is a small quick motion by the chiropractor and the patient experiences a release type feeling. Rarely is there any discomfort.
You can notice relief of pain, stronger muscles, fewer times that your back or joints “go out”.
The theory of Chiropractic practice includes
The structure of the body can influence the function of the body.
Chiropractic work adjusts the structure so the body can function more normally.
The two types of care are Relief Care and Rehabilitative Care.
In quick onset, uncomplicated conditions, relief care is all that is needed and may only need a few visits.
Rehabilitative Care is longer. Sometimes less frequent visits are needed and there is usually a home program.
