What happens in a session?
During a session you lie on a massage table, fully clothed. You make small, gentle movements and LEARN how your body was designed to move without pain. A session lasts about an hour. The practitioner is with you the entire time.
Cynthia guides you in a series of self-observation movements that show areas of tension, strain, or imbalance. She then works with you to learn specific movement sequences that are individualized to your movement patterns.
What changes will I notice?
You can notice improved awareness of how the whole body is involved with movements. Pain can be reduced. Range of motion of joints can be improved. Tightness resolves. Your body works better to move more easily and more naturally.
The theory of Movement Therapy
The practitioner’s touch is to communicate, not to correct. By careful observation of your particular movement patterns and knowledge of the optimal movement and functioning of the body, Cynthia can help you move toward that optimal functioning with the gentle changes that make improvements last and not cause further damage or pain.
