What Happens in a Session?
During a consultation the herbalist asks specific questions to clarify your medical and health history. He reviews your goals and priorities. He then develops an individual formulation, usually tincture or tea, to address YOUR specific symptoms and goals and carefully reviews the directions for taking the herbal preparation. If you are taking prescription medicines she may check with a physician at IMC to ensure there are not drug herb interactions that need to be considered.
Naturopathic Medicine includes herbs in many treatment plans. You may notice that often herbal treatments take several weeks to show their full effect. Your body adjusts to this approach slowly. Symptoms of fatigue, sleep problems, anxiety, breathing, can improve.
The theory of herbal therapies is plants are naturally occurring substances that have evolved with us and can be used to treat many symptoms.
